officially a benny.

and so, my loyal 5-or-so readers, i will be vacating the island of manhattan this weekend and taking a trip down the shore. i will be relaxing by the pool, sipping champagne, preparing delicious vegan meals, and spending q.t. with both kate moss and the moms. enjoy the dirty, smelly, hot 'n humid city while i'm away.

(apologies go out to a.c.--i didn't get a chance to see him before he set off for california, but it won't be long before he returns to retrieve the kitties. a.c., i like how you used the 'there's-a-cute-boy-here!' tactic last night to try to get me to come out. nice work, though it was to no avail.)

went running last night through the streets of the east village, passing an abundance of drunk smokers populating the sidewalk. it felt, well, odd. in keeping with my recent interest in all things high school, however, listening to the go! team kept me going.

from pitchfork:

"The Power Is On" pops like puffy rainbow stickers, rubbing determined piano chords against surly trumpets and cheerleader chants.
in other music news, i am happy to report that c.d. and i emailed a bit yesterday (i have missed him so) and that his band and their "smooth-ridin' sex rock" will be making a stop in these parts next month. i am waiting with baited breath. it's been years since i last saw them play and though one would think i was beholden to be a fan when he and i were dating, i really did like them. honest.

I downloaded some go team stuff and, maybe I downloaded the wrong songs, but I found them all to be really annoying. I was kind of surprised, I guess.

yeah, I actually thought it was awful. I know a lot of people whose music viewpoints I respect like them, so I was amazed. Didn't get it and it just sounded pretty crappy. I did download that in the midst of downloading George Jones and Highwaymen songs, so maybe I just wasn't into the idea of being a sissy at that point.

well, to each his own. i still need to download that common record and i'll give you my opinion. i'm sure i'll dig it, though; you have many flaws, kb, but you've got a good taste in tunez.

ha.

flaws? I doubt that.
