where did holden procure his candy?

i hadn't really thought about the child contingent in the city at halloween; perhaps, in my mind's eye, they all boarded a bus to the 'burbs where they could trick-or-treat like the average kid? but no, on the way home from the gym tonight, i see a group of decked-out tykes going door-to-door at bodegas, grocery stores, drugstores, and bagel shops.

terribly depressing.

why did that depress you? same thing went on here. lots of stores and resturants give out top shelf treats.

i don't know; there's something so charming about going door-to-door in neighborhoods (to actual houses, that is.)

last night, it seemed the parents were more into it than the kids.

BAG-snatching and egging is what Halloween's all about.
