i am what i eat
I am introducing a new feature on O'Fever -- thank you, Ganda, for inspiring me to learn more about my friends...
I'm starting with myself, but each day I will attempt to post someone new (until I run out of responses, which may happen rather quickly.) Feel free to email me your own responses, if you'd like.
I think ol' Anthelme Brillat-Savarin's adage is true: Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Well, I won't tell you, but perhaps it will be telling to others? Or, maybe not? Just humor me.)
First up...
Occupation: Nutrition educator
Relationship status: Single
Location: Manhattan
What did you eat yesterday?
Breakfast...
Starbucks coffee with splash of Silk Vanilla Soy Milk (my special treat -- I had to go back to it every once in a while!), Dannon Light & Fit peach yogurt
Snack...
One serving of string cheese
Lunch...
Health Valley Lentil & Carrot soup
An orange
Snack...
Mini bag of 100 calorie microwave popcorn
Dinner...
Half a nosh-sized serving of Garden (whole wheat) Mac & Cheese from S'MAC, two and a half pints of Bud Light
What do you never eat? Red meat (yet...)
In my refrigerator, you can always find: Sriracha sauce, low-sodium tamari, soy margarine, butter, vanilla soy milk, soy cheese slices, whole wheat bread, whole wheat flour (for baking impulses), bottled water, green tomato relish, spicy mustard, Annie's Goddess dressing, baby spinach, tempeh.
In my freezer, you can always find: Frozen vegetables, chocolate, pita bread, tofu.
What is your favorite kitchen item? My Calphalon non-stick saute pan -- or perhaps my mandoline, which I use very infrequently.
Where do you eat out most frequently? Lately, it's been Curly's Vegetarian Lunch, Burritoville, House of Pita, and Essex.
World ends tomorrow. What would you like for your last meal? Nine course chef's tasting menu with wine pairings at Per Se. Or my mom's homemade mac & cheese and some Better than Sex Cake. I'm flexible like that.
