I have, of late, been bitten by the history bug. History was never a course in college to which I looked forward. I think at the age of 18, I scraped by with a C, which today I find horrifying.

I'm making up for it, though: I've started listening to Prof. Jennifer Burns' lectures from U.C. Berkeley on the walk to and from work, and I purchased Nathaniel Philbrick's Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War today.

Any other books you would recommend?

And, why, oh why, Shelby Foote, did you have to die? I wanna marry you.
