s'over
It's here.
Today is my last day at work.
I'm sure I'll update this several times, but right now, it's 7:50 in the morning, my hair is dripping onto my quilt, and I just read the-best-email-ever from Kate Moss. I know that no matter what happens in life, I am the luckiest person in the world for having such great friends.
(Speaking of which, had an awesome day with KB yesterday and a delicious dinner with KB, Kate Moss, and Scarny last night... in a bathhouse!)
Today is bittersweet. I've been unhappy in my job for some time and quit three months ago. Now that my time is up, I think back upon the good memories and think, "Hmmm, was it really that bad?" No matter what, what's done is done and I'm onto another adventure.
The CDC flies me to Atlanta on the 30th. This, of course, does not mean that I've got the job in the bag by any means, but I feel confident. If I don't get the job, it's back to Brooklyn on January 1.
(I have to admit, if the CDC were in Brooklyn, life would be so much easier.)
Can't get into the sitch about the co-worker. (What will he be after today? A co-worker no longer.) Too confusing and complicated, and well, I haven't even had a drop of coffee yet.
Off to dry my hair. More later.
Update: (3:46 PM EST) So, after much coffee, an impressive spread o' vegan treats (brownies, cookies, muffins, pumpkin pie, brittle!), a sweet gift of Vosges chocolate from my sworn company enemy, emails from patients thanking me for my ear and advice, a few tears, a walk at lunch, many chats with the co-worker, and a lot of cleaning, I'm almost done.
Now it's time to hit up Mars 2112 for cheap drinks with an eclectic crowd of individuals.
Retirement feels good.
