the brig
I chose not to live-blog the episode last night, primarily because I was so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open, but I'm actually glad I had my full attention on the screen.
Jesus, it was probably my favorite episode of "Lost" ever. If you've been watching from the beginning, I think you'd have to agree with me.
Sawyer kills Cooper-Sawyer. Locke pines for the acceptance of the Others. Juliet and Jack are keeping a secret from Kate. No off-island flashbacks. Sawyer's rage. Ben is walking. Rousseau reappears. Sayid as human lie-detector. The Black Rock. The wreckage in the ocean. Cindy & the kids. The "Hell" theory.
The whole thing just blew me away. (Even though I knew that Cooper was the real Sawyer, so there was no big reveal for me there.)
Thoughts? KM? Scarny? LauraH? Coke Bref?

I know! This episode was really exciting. For the first time, it made me feel really sorry for James/Sawyer. I guess I have always kindof felt about him the same way that I feel about Juliet - like he's conning everyone and can't be trusted. But this ep totally made me feel really bad for him. As DJ put it - Locke uses him to get what he wants and then sends him back to camp. Meanwhile, Sawyer totally has to feel guilty (even though that guy had it coming). Overall, an awesome and amazing episode.
Also, I bought into the hell theory, but Robbie B says that the producers have denied this. Has anyone else heard anything about that?
Robbie is correct -- both Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse (who are head writers, executive producers, and who were the team who wrote last night's episode) have stated that the Losties are NOT dead and thus are NOT in purgatory, Heaven, or Hell.
Here's Kristin from E! explaining more:

Still, even knowing this, the scene where Cooper/Sawyer stated, "Don't you know where we are?" made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.
Other thoughts:
I know what you and Deeg mean about Locke: isn't he just doing what Ben does? Using others to do his dirty work?
Josh Holloway deserves an Emmy.
Oh, and lots of people are chattering about the fact that Sawyer using a chain to strangle Cooper/Sawyer parallels Princess Leia strangling Jabba the Hutt in "Return of the Jedi": a former slave strangling his/her master. I like this (especially 'cause the killing of Cooper/Saywer went down in an old slave ship).
Okay, enough nerd talk for the hour.
all i know is that kate is a whore and i will never tell her a secret. sayid on the other note is perfect in every way.
I don't love Kate, true, but c'mon, KM: A whore? Hardly.
Sayid is hot and a good one to have around, true. But perfect? Hmmm.
