potent potables
Kate Moss and I (along with her co-worker and possibly a handful of our male BFFs, sans Scarny) are going to try to supplement our income at a local trivia night this evening. Fingers crossed they only ask questions about current sci-fi television shows, culinary anthropology, and/or early-1990s rock 'n roll.
Back in 2001 and 2002, Amber Bear, J. Ro, the Ex, and I used to frequent Taco Stand's rock 'n roll trivia night -- and we really racked up a nice bar tab, thanks to our collective genius. I think we ate and drank for free for quite some time.
Back in 2000, I made $75 a week for about a month at a trivia night hosted at an authentic line dancing bar (whose name now escapes me) in Round Rock, Texas.
Let's hope I can continue this streak...!

we did not come in last! holla!
Holla, indeed!
Okay, folks, answer me these (and no cheating! No Googling!):
How many peas in a pod?
Who is the only president whose last name you can type with only your right hand? (It'll be easier on you than it was for us, what with your keyboard right in front of you...)
Who was Mariska Hargitay's mother?
What is the only word that, when you remove the last four of its five letters, is still pronounced the same?
What are the names of the lions who sit outside the New York Public Library?
(KM, remember any more?)
Was Mariska Hargitay's mom Jane Mansfield? I know she was one of those blond-bombshell actress-types. Or at least I think so.
I consider myself a storehouse of useless knowledge, and those are hard questions.
You are correct, Al!
Mariska's mom was, indeed, Jayne Mansfield.
