amour dans la cuisine

Summer's basically kaput.

Autumn's arriving shortly.

More importantly, however: Christmas is coming up in, oh, a little over four months, and thus I am giving everyone ample time to purchase les cadeaux pour moi.

I bought this back in January. I want more like it. Lots more. I want half ones and full ones. I want frilly ones. I want gingham-printed ones. I want to wear a different one every night as I whip up (veggie?) meatloaf in my kitchen while wearing 3" heels.

I want to decorate cakes in it. I want to bake brioche in it. I want to make overnight French toast with caramel walnut topping in it.

I also want many kitschy sets of these.

Merci, mes amis!

Summer still has 33.3 percent remaining. It's not basically over, just live it, dude.

The summer, as I knew it, is kaput -- but that's not a bad thing.

Too much beer and chorizo in my belly makes me yearn for autumn.

Man, it's pretty much too hot to go swimming here right now. It's that time of year when the water in a pool is like a warm bath.

It'll be 90 again on Sunday.

From Gothamist today:

"As you shivered your way to work, you can at least be reassured that yesterday [August 21] was the coldest August day since 1911 (when subways cost a nickel!). Yesterday's high was 59 degrees, taking the mantle of coldest August 21 ever."
