offer
pro: job in my field.
con: less money than i had wanted. (we're talking $5k less.)
pro: more money than i made in atlanta last time.
con: would need to start in 13 days.
pro: atlanta.
con: no apartment, no car, no savings.
i am so torn. must make decision.
i would hate to leave my current job with less than 2 weeks' notice. would need to find a roommate for my apartment, find a place in atlanta, buy a car, move my stuff -- all before july 24th.
am i crazy? this is my first offer... haven't interviewed anywhere else yet.
someone needs to make this decision for me.

why does it have to start in 13 days? you should request an extra two weeks; if they bite on that, go for it.
they want some overlap between the incoming and outgoing coordinators, and her last day is a firm july 28th -- but as s.m. mentioned to me, they should have hired earlier.
i think i'm gonna pass.
or... ?!
finding at apt - at least a temporary one - should be a breeze - finding transportation, etc, and trying to actually GET THERE with all yr stuff in 13 DAYS!!!!???? - not so very easy. if its a job you think you would really, really like, then go for it - see if you can negotatiate a week-long trip to atl to overlap with the exiting woman, find an apt, etc, then a trip back to nyc to actually move. if you're not sure its yr dream job, then wait, because atl is a big city and there will be some other jobs. are they going to pay any moving expenses?
I think you made the best decision. The city ain't goin' nowhere unless the fucking yankees burn that shit down again before November.
yes, decision was made last night -- staying in nyc until late november.
thanks to everyone who listened to me blabber on yesterday!
